How do I create clickable prototypes as suggested on your Home page?
Turning any mock-up into a clickable prototype in PowerPoint is easy. After designing your app with any of the Windows8Templates kits, decide which controls you want to be clickable and what action you want that click to initiate. In most cases a click will move the presentation to a new slide. This new slide could represent a new window in the app, or a slight change of the current window such as selecting an item in a collection.
Once you’ve mapped out your clickable areas and created the supporting slides, its time to insert Action Buttons. On the Insert tab, in the Illustrations group, click Shapes, and then under Action Buttons, click the Custom button; usually the first item in the list. Drag and size the rectangular shape over the control you want to be clickable. After releasing the mouse button, a dialog box will appear with the action settings. Choose the Hyperlink to option under Mouse Click (or Mouse Over) and select the slide (or url) you want the click action to go to. After pressing OK, right click on the Action Button and select Format Shape. Now, set the Fill Color to No Fill and the Line Color to No Line to make the action button invisible.
You’re all set! Start the slide show and click on the area where you placed your Action Buttons. Now you can demo and test your design as if it were a functional prototype. Its even better if you can demo your prototype right on a Windows 8 touch device.
